Dependant on the answers to the project elements there are a variety of proven approaches used by the Entegraty Project Teams that may be considered for implementation which include:
RAD (Rapid Application Development)
- An iterative development approach
- Identify Must Haves, Should Haves, Could Haves and Want to Haves (MoSCoW) – implement requirements in order of priority and budget
- Construction of prototypes along the way
- Design of solution built dynamically
- Configuration document created along the way
RAD Benefits:
- Speedier implementation times
- Strong collaborative atmosphere
- Active participation from the customer in prototyping and testing
- Easier for customer to ‘own and understand’ the solution once implementation has completed
Waterfall Approach
This is a structured project approach where one phase follows on to another sequential phase, there is more emphasis on documentation being signed before any work commences
Waterfall Benefits:
- Simple and disciplined approach
- Easily definable milestones
- Easier to replace implementation teams with full documentation backups in place
- Time spent earlier on getting the requirements and design correct saves time and effort later
